Bolt from the Blue...

Bolt from the Blue...

Direct from the Brighton Festival Fringe where it played to sell out audiences… an absurd new comedy that will make you laugh!

Second Impression Theatre return to the Etcetera with a highly topical, absurd new comedy about a rogue city banker, who gets struck by lightning and whose wife then sells him on eBay!

Yet his nightmare is only just beginning, since he is then confronted by an odd group of conspiracy theorists believing this current recession was a nightmare deliberately created by an elite group of bankers, set to dominate the world!

This is a tight spot from which to escape, as the group seek to extract revenge in their own peculiar way. Funny, absurd, sexy and dangerous…

A cast of six great actors from Second Impression Theatre, bring this high energy, new comedy to life - by award winning playwright and director, David Weedall.

‘Funny, surreal and at times disturbing… evocative piece that is good to see!’ The List
‘Bold and fast-paced… funny, surprising and absurd…’ Three Weeks
‘Second Impression… a truly promising theatrical venture.’ The Times

The Deceased Woman

The Deceased Woman

It’s a shocking story, full of ugly, tasteless human behaviour. It’s a story of a young woman who wills her own death - for utterly frivolous reasons.

The tale is text-book Rodrigues, distorted and nauseating, absurd in its extremes yet pinpoint accurate as to what makes us tick.

With this new production of his 1953 classic The Deceased Woman, Londoners finally have a chance to inhabit the dark world of Brazil’s foremost playwright and infamous agent provocateur Nelson Rodrigues.

The ImProDigies present: It’s A Scandal!

The ImProDigies present: It’s A Scandal!

There’s an hour until press time and the Daily Trumpet newspaper is lacking its headline! They don’t want yesterday’s news or the same story as every other paper, they want the truth... even if they have to make it up!

Using a combination of audience suggestions and the actual headlines of the day for inspiration, ‘It’s A Scandal!’ is an improvised play which sees the headlines of tomorrow created before your eyes today!

Based on your suggestions we will tell the story behind the story. We will reveal the hidden meetings the government has behind closed doors, the secret rendezvous of the celebrities or maybe even the horrible truth of what actually is the secret ingredient in buckets of fried chicken? Who knows? The story is up to you!! However serious, scandalous or bizarre – if it’s in the news or trending on twitter we’re willing to make a show of it.

Albert Shoe in Widescreen

Albert Shoe in Widescreen

Albert spends all his time wishing life was more like TV. Real life just isn’t that exciting. He’s much happier lost in a world of other people’s adventures to bother with his own. But that’s all about to change. Things in Albert’s life are becoming increasingly peculiar; fantasy and reality are beginning to blur. He could have sworn his house used to be surrounded by dry land and that his boss didn’t always remind him of a Minotaur. Unable to separate fact from fiction, the race is now on for Albert to find a way out of the strange universe he’s found himself in, and realise a rather modest adventure of his own.

Albert Shoe in Widescreen is the inaugural devised performance from brand new touring collective, Compagnie de Bofoo, envisioning one man’s tireless attempts to overcome all hurdles, break free and finally achieve his dream. A fantastical comic adventure told using physical storytelling, puppetry, and live music.

Albert Shoe in Widescreen explores the idea that we all want to be extraordinary, to achieve great things and begs the question: what’s so wrong with being ordinary?
